While I was writing this post, I listened to High Hopes by Kodaline. Try it !

Not a nasty-looking palette, eh ? I know. As soon as I first laid eyes on it while browing BeautyBay for a new bright eyeshadow palette to buy, I knew the Bright 16-Colour Palette from the Everything You Need new range would soon be mine.
I don't know what's been up with me lately, I've been after a colorful palette for weeks now. But not one has completely satisfied me until this one, and even now, the one I'm after has been sold out for weeks - the BeautyBay EYN Bright 42 Matte Colour Palette, a beautiful, large palette full of super bright colors. The more, the merrier !

BeautyBay | Everything You Need - 4 Ranges of Palettes

This palette is the first 16-eyeshadow palette from BeautyBay I've gotten. In my review of the Bright Shimmer 9-Colour palette, I remember telling you I'd bought almost all the 9 and 16-colour palettes from the Everything You Need range - for each range (Fiery, Bright, Berry and Nude), you've got one 42-eyeshadow palette, one 16-eyeshadow palette and three 9-colour palettes (one shimmery, one matte and one mixing both finishes). After receiving them all, I realized that a lot of colors were really too similar within the palettes of a same range so I sent back many of them.

Maybe my telling you this will help you out with choosing what to get :
- Fiery : The three Fiery 9-Colour palettes and the Fiery 16 palette look too much alike - I could have kept the Fiery Matte 9 palette because it looked really amazing and that's a choice of whether I'd have used it since I already own a lot of nudes/reddish mattes and the difference between the mattes in this and the Fiery 16 isn't important enough that I could justify keeping it ;
- Bright : Same thing goes for the three Bright 9 palettes and this 16-Colour palette - I kept the 9 Shimmer palette but thought that the totally matte one was a bit useless considering I've got this one now, that I want to buy the 42-matte palette and I found the palette mixing shimmers and mattes absolutely nasty-looking (I liked only one eyeshadow in this one and at this point I just wanted my money back) ;
- Berry : About the Berry range, I sent back the Berry 16 because I thought all sixteen eyeshadows looked about the same and the whole palette looked really boring to me. I didn't keep the 9-Colour palette mixing shimmers and mattes because I was only interested in one shade and didn't want to keep a whole palette for just one color ;
- Nudes : I chose two palettes from the new Nudes range when it was released and on the website they looked stunning, in real life they looked really, really boring and since I own the Morphe Ready, Set, Gold palette and like a gazillion more nude eyeshadows, I sent them back.
So, just so you know what to expect, I've kept the Fiery 16, the Berry Matte 9 and the Berry Shimmer 9 palettes and I'll be reviewing them soon so stay tuned and subscribe to the newsletter so you know when I'm putting down the reviews.

BeautyBay | EYN Bright 16-Colour Eyeshadow Palette

This Bright 16 Palette is made up of 10 matte eyeshadows and 6 shimmers - like the 9-Colour palette, when BeautyBay says shimmers, it means shimmer - no hint of metallic or foiled here. The pans are pretty big, 1.4 g per eyeshadow which is pretty awesome for the price I paid - €13.50 ! The prices of the BeautyBay palettes are unbelievable. Since I didn't know what to expect, it didn't really matter if only one or two eyeshadows were good since they were still less expensive than where I work - after all, I did get sixteen eyeshadows for less than the price of a single eyeshadow at M.A.C. !
The packaging is pretty basic, cardboard which is my favorite kind since it's so lightweight and easy to take with me on a photoshoot. As I previously stated in my review of the 9-Colour palette, I'm not a big fan of the black and blue packaging which I think is too simple and not pretty at all except for the holographic EYN letters on the front of the palette - but you can't expect a Desert Dusk packaging for that price so I will stop asking for too much.

BeautyBay | EYN Bright 16-Colour Palette - My Opinion

I don't distinctly remember what colors I loved the most when I saw this for the first time but I've got a good guess on the Orange Soda eyeshadow since I'm still in my orange blush phase, the matte yellow and the shimmery apple green. Well, you'll be happy to know I'm really happy about them. All of them. The pigmentation is really, really good and every eyeshadow applies well - the dark matte purple is a bit trickier to apply but I know that good purples are hard to create so I don't really mind because I can still use it without too much trouble.

The mattes are definitely the hit in this palette and since I've already tried the other three BeautyBay palettes I own, I can say that the mattes are the best eyeshadows BeautyBay makes. The shimmers are pretty good but they're not the best out there and like I said, they're shimmers, not metallics. They're best used over a primer of the same color like a 3ina Cream Eyeshadow or a Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick and the ones that perform the best are the medium to dark shimmer colors like Lagoon or Amethyst, the light blue and the light purple which really impressed me.
The matte red eyeshadow called Hot Stuff, the light brown called Bare Necessity and the matte brown called Preppy Pecan are the ones I used in my Tangerine Blossom makeup look and you can see just how good they look ! I could blend them together and they didn't get all muddy or anything and they lasted all day till the end of my shift - I got compliments all day long which means I wasn't the only one impressed with the pigmentation of these. That can only mean one thing - I'll be getting the Brights Matte 42-Colour Palette as soon as it's back in stock !

Have you ever tried the BeautyBay Eyeshadow Palette range ? Would you dare to rock this kind of bright shades ? x
