While I was writing this post, I listened to I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner. Try it !

I'm a sucker for Pho - name for large Asian noodle soups. I'm 24 and I was somewhere around 17 when I first discovered this dish and I've never moved on since. Mostly, those soups are from Vietnam if my memory serves me right but you can find different kinds of pho all around Asia like in Laos or Cambodia - I have never tried pho from these countries but I really should do so when I get/take the opportunity !

I have had these pictures ready for ages now but I'm always focusing on makeup here so I'd forgotten all about them. What a shame. I've been thinking of adding some lifestyle pieces to the blog part of Azami Makeup so I'm really happy the first lifestyle post is about Le Bambou ! You know what decided me to start writing this post and publish it today ? Well, last Saturday after work I went to this awesome place that serves the best pho ever - again. But this time, I ordered some chicken nem and a raw beef salad as well, just to try something new and it was so delicious that it made me want to write and let you know all about this place as soon as I could.

I've been to Le Bambou (70 rue Baudricourt, 75013 Paris) for about three years now on a regular basis and everytime I go there I enjoy my food as much as the last time, if not more. The dish I love the most is Pho Tai (number 23 on the menu, yes, that's how often I eat there) which is a noodle soup with very tender raw beef pieces that cook in the broth. The word "tender" is important here because as I am on muscle growth, I need a lot of protein so I eat a lot of meat but beef is often an issue as I hate having to chew food for minutes on end. In this restaurant, they do pay attention to the quality of the meat and they're also generous about the quantity of meat served in dishes which is something I've always appreciated.

Pho is my favorite dish on earth and I love just how I can eat it any day that I want because there are such few calories in a big bowl ! One thing I love about pho is how they bring you a plate covered with herbs, soy sprouts, pieces of pepper and lemon and you can choose whatever you want to add to your soup - Harry Potter potion style.
Be aware that Le Bambou is often crowded because it's a really famous place but once you take a bite into your food, you'll understand why ! Also don't be offensed when you see that the waiters are not ones to cater for your every need, they're not too friendly and that's "normal" for this place. It took me three years so they'd start being more friendly to me, but they don't have the time to be overly nice to everyone (as I would be but that's neither here nor there), or don't take it - whatever the case, don't be offensed or anything, just come for the food and you'll be alright.

Everytime I meet a new open-minded person, I'll just let them know about this place. It is also a sign of authenticity to me when many Asian people eat in an Asian restaurant and that's exactly what goes on there. My pho has never decreased in quality and taste, it's always super full of flavor as all the dishes I've ever eaten there. Aside from the pho, do try the bo bun which is also excellent and the raw beef salad, one of my very best finds in Le Bambou ! :D

Have you ever tried this place ? What are your favorite secret places to eat in Paris ? x
